            Growing up in North Carolina, D. R. Moyer loved singing.  By high school he joined the choir and found a love for performing.  D. R. became a local celebrity in the VA/NC region, singing at local colleges and community events.  In 2000 he joined the Millennium Choir, singing behind such luminaries as the Late Rev. James Moore and NC’s own Perkin Brothers.

 

            Opportunity beckoned further when D. R. was invited to record with T West and The West Wind Singers of NYC and Osaka Japan.  After touring, he decided to relocate to NYC.  In 2002, D. R. further honed his skills as a gospel singer performing and touring with Rev. Frank Baylor former musical director for the famous Ward Sisters.

 

            As a result, D. R.’s repertoire of music and vocal experience allowed him to venture into many genres of music. Ultimately drawing him to the sultry sounds of Doo Wop, singing with well known groups such as The Paragons, and is now currently a member of The Legendary Jarmels.  Whose songs include one of the top billboard hits in 1961 “A Little Bit Of Soap”.  Ray Smith, original member of the group dubbed him “Baby Ray”.

 

            D. R. has performed at such venues as The Wolftrap Theater, Foxwoods Casino and Resort, and the famous Beacon Theater of NYC.  He has also appeared on the PBS television specials “Rock, Pop, and Doo Wop”, and also “Rock, Rhythm, and Doo Wop”.  Catch him in your neck of the woods promoting their new cd “More Soap”.
